I had to separate the finches! "Big Daddy" became a little aggressive with "Little Mama". He seemed more interested in creating a new nest full of hatchlings than feeding the two he already has. After a little research, I found that the cure for that is to put "Big Daddy" in a separate cage with his own baby to feed and leave the other baby with "Little Mama".
I was a little skeptical about it, but I tried it and it is really working.
"Captain Adventure" is living with "Big Daddy", and "Fraidy Pants" is living with "Little Mama".
Both parents are doing well feeding their little one.
After a few weeks, I can put them all back together, minus the nesting box.
I want to give them a little break before I let them breed again.
By the way, "Fraidy Pants" is now exploring his environment!
Til' next time!
